The AC 50 motor is an 8" , 115-lb motor that is capable of producing 71 hp and 120 ft-lbs of torque, designed for mid-size vehicles with curb weight of 3500 lbs or less.  The AC 51 motor is the same 8" motor that has been designed around the Curtis 144 volt controller. It is capable of producing 88 horsepower and 108 ft-lbs of torque and is a good fit for vehicles with a curb weight of up to 4000 lbs.  It is available with or without a 7/8" auxiliary shaft.

They can be paired with any of the following Curtis brand motor controllers:

  • 1236SE-5621 (48V, 600A) 
  • 1236SE-6421 (48-80V, 450A)

  • 1239E-8521 (96-170V, 500A)

Many faces, splines and other options available upon request.  Our default configuration is NEMA B-Face with 1 1/8" shaft.
